Expectations for Students:
- Attendance is required
- Be on time
- Be an active learner. Ask for help when needed.
- Do your very best
- Work in an area free from distractions
- Be respectful when learning, speaking, and writing in the chat box
- Turn your video off if you go to the bathroom (but ask first!)
- Keep your sound on mute until asked to speak
- Stay in one place during class
- Do not take pictures or videos of others or the class
- Turn in assignments on time
Parent Roles:
- Your role as a parent/guardian is to support your child in their educational journey
- Set up space in the home for your child
- For the youngest learners, provide a schedule and structure
- Communicate with the teacher if any assistance is needed
- Make sure your child meets all class appointments with the teacher
- At the start of the school year, you may need to assist your child with accessing the live blended learning instructions until it becomes natural to them
- Assist your child with accessing the classroom Learning Management System (LMS)

Positive Reinforcement:
- ClassDojo points - students receive points for making smart choices!
- Group points - each week, the group with the most points gets a reward!
Consequences:
- ClassDojo - parents receive instant feedback of students' behavior. Automatically generated reports.
- I believe each situation is special and should be dealt with appropriately.
- The student and I will identify the problem and come up with a solution together.
Rules:
- Come to class prepared with all supplies and homework complete
- Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself
- Listen when others are talking
- Share and take turns
- Participate in class activities
- Follow directions and all school rules
- Use kind words
Grading Scale
85% - 100% E = Excellent
70% - 84% S = Satisfactory
69% or below N = Needs Improvement

School Supplies (fee included in tuition and supplies provided for each student)
- 1 pencil box (8.25" x 5.25" x 2")
- 24 sharpened #2 pencils
- 1 box of sharpened colored pencils (12 count)
- 1 box of crayons (24 count)
- 1 box of classic color wide-tip markers (water-based, 8-12 count)
- 2 glue sticks
- 2 large erasers
- 1 pointed tip 5" scissors
- 1 ruler with inches and centimeters
- 1 Reusable water bottle
**NO notebook folders, binders, or rolling backpacks allowed.***
Water
- Each child should keep a reusable water bottle at his/her desk (drinking fountains will not be accessible this year)
- Water bottles will be sent home each Friday for a cleaning.
- Students may bring individual snacks.
- Please send healthy brain food as opposed to sugary sweets.
- Good examples: fresh/dry fruit, veggies, granola bars, crackers, trail mix, etc...
- SCHOOL POLICY: NO SHARING SNACKS!

Here are some helpful guidelines for birthday celebrations:
- Please email or call to let me know if you plan on sending a special treat to celebrate your child's birthday.
- Please send enough treats for the whole class. There are 28 students in our class.
- Make it simple
- Popsicles, cookies, cupcakes, etc. (no cakes or ice cream please!
- New policy this year (2020-2021) requires that all food be individually pre-packaged
- Please do not bring treats with nuts due to sever allergic reactions (school policy)
- Best time is 12:00pm (during lunch)
- Summer Birthdays - if a student has a birthday during the summer, a fun way to celebrate during the school year is by celebrating their half birthday (6 months before/after their birthday)
- Please send enough treats for the whole class. There are 28 students in our class.
- No presents, candles, or balloons at school
- Please ONLY send party invitations to be passed out in class when ALL students are invited. If you wish to give out invitations to only certain students, please do so outside of school.
