Professional Growth Goal Reflection
|
SurprisesI was very surprised at how much my students have grown this year. Due to the pandemic, these students have not had a normal school year yet. They have come so far already this year and I could not be prouder of them. Some have adjusted to being back in a classroom after being homeschooled, while others are adjusting to not having any friends online with them in the classroom. They have surprised me in how hard they are working to fill any gaps academically that might be a challenge for them. They are stepping up to the plate and working their hardest to get caught up to where they need to be.

ActionsIn order to assess whether or not I have attained my goals, I will be keeping myself accountable by keeping a log of my professional development activities. My fiance and I will be learning Spanish together so that will help me stay accountable with that goal as well.
In order to remain a connected educator throughout my career, I will make sure that I keep in touch with past and present colleagues, whether it's just to say a friendly hello and check in, or bounce ideas off of each other. I believe it's very important for teaching to stay connected with one another and create a sense of community and camaraderie. In order to personally and professionally sustain energy, I will need to maintain a balance between work life and home life. I always try (as best as I can) to keep work and home separate and leave work at school. I plan to continue to stay at school as long as I need to so that I don't have to bring work home with me. It's all about having balance. |
